This is in regards to using SurvCE Version 6.02 or higher to scale your GPS equipment to Ground Distances.
Note: It is most common to use a Multipoint Method of "Plane Similarity" and to add four to six control points around the outside of the project area in the Points tab. This automatically calculates your grid to ground scale factor for you in which case NONE of the information in this article applies.
SurvCE 6.02 and later
- Applying a Grid to Ground Scale Factor without a Rover Localization: Basic Grid to Ground conversion
- Using a "2-point Rotate Only" Localization scaled to Ground: 2-point Grid to Ground
- Using a "1-point Localization" with assumed Local Coordinates scaled to Ground (e.g. - Northing of 5,000 + Easting 10,000 + Elevation 900): 1-point Grid to Ground
SurvCE 3.03 and later
- Applying a Grid to Ground Scale Factor without a Rover Localization: Basic Grid to Ground conversion
- Using a "2-point Rotate Only" Localization scaled to Ground: 2-point Grid to Ground
- Using a "1-point Localization" with assumed Local Coordinates scaled to Ground (e.g. - Northing of 5,000 + Easting 10,000 + Elevation 900): 1-point Grid to Ground
SurvCE 2.50 and later
- Applying a Grid to Ground Scale Factor without a Rover Localization: Basic Grid to Ground conversion
- Using a "2-point Rotate Only" Localization scaled to Ground: 2-point Grid to Ground
- Using a "1-point Localization" with assumed Local Coordinates scaled to Ground (e.g. - Northing of 5,000 + Easting 10,000 + Elevation 900): 1-point Grid to Ground
