Title: Backing up your Data

Since the Carlson Surveyor+ (and any other collector with Windows Mobile 5 and higher) uses internal flash memory for
all the Software Applications you install and Data Storage instead of RAM memory as did the older collectors running
WindowsCE such as the Carlson Explorer or Juniper AllegroCX, having a backup method is not as critical.

But backup methods are available as explained at:

Windows Mobile Field PCs

The entire system of a Microsoft Windows Mobile 5.0 or higher Field PC (Archer, Allegro MX) is stored in non-volatile
flash memory. This means that performing a system backup is not as critical as it was with devices that used previous
versions of the Microsoft Windows Mobile and Windows CE operating systems which stored the majority of the system in
volatile RAM memory.

If you would like to perform a full system backup of the Field PC, a third-party program is required, such as one of the
following:
SPB Backup

Sprite Backup

Several options are available to automatically transfer (synchronize) data between a Data Collector and a desktop computer or server. A link to the website for each option is provided in the table below.
