This is a set of instructions for creating an internet connection through a US Cellular Bluetooth Cellphone in a Windows Mobile 5 or WM6 data collector.

Mobile 5.0 & WM6 Examples:

  • Carlson Surveyor+
  • Carlson Mini
  • AllegroMX
  • Juniper Archer
  • Trimble TSC2
  • TDS Ranger 500
  • TDS Recon

!!!Alert!!! You will likely want the maximum data plan on your Cellphone before using your cellphone to connect to the Internet for using it with the GPS Reference networks (e.g. - 5gig per month).

  1. Turn on the Data Collector
  2. Tap Start / Settings / Connections tab / Bluetooth
    1. Turn on BT / Make this device discoverable
    2. tap the Devices tab / tap New Partnership
    3. Bond to phone with passkeys / Choose "Dialup Networking" as the Service
    4. tap FINISH
  3. In the Connections Tab = tap the Connections icon
    1. Under My ISP = tap "Add a new Modem Connection"
    2. type in "US Cellular" / pick Modem type of "Bluetooth"
    3. tap Next / tap the Device from Step #2 / tap Next
    4. Phn Number = #777
    5. User name = yournumber@uscc.net
      (Replace yournumber with your ten digit Cellphone Phn Number, Example: 6065550123@uscc.net)
    6. Password: yournumber
      (Replace yournumber with your ten digit Cellphone Phn Number, Example: Password = 6065550123)
    7. Domain: leave blank
    8. Tap Finish
  4. Tap Manage Existing Connections / tap and HOLD "US Cellular" / tap Connect
    • Dialing #777
    • Returns you to the Connections screen
    • Exit back out to the Today Screen
  5. To disconnect tap the "Double Arrows" in the Upper right tap Disconnect
