Title: Carlson 2021 or newer errors when running on NVidia Quadro in Intermediate mode
Topic ID: 1300 Link to this page
Category: IntelliCAD
Modified: 2022-03-02 Created: 2022-03-02

Problem:

Carlson 2021 and newer when running on some newer NVidia Quadro cards in Intermedate graphics mode (as seen in GRAPHICSCONFIG command) can experience intermittent DLL load failures. Messages show code (998) and this can result in command failures and registration errors. This can in turn lead to additional error codes 1055, 1011 or 67.

Causes:

The Carlson 2021 and newer versions interact with Quadro driver in different ways than 2020 and earlier. Exceptions in the driver cause the DLL load failures.

Resolution:

Carlson Software have identified the Quadro driver settings that allow to avoid the error conditions and worked with Nvidia developers to integrate these into an automatic profile for IntelliCAD. The updated driver released in late October 2021 includes this feature: https://www.nvidia.com/Download/driverResults.aspx/192043/en-us/

Step 1:

If you experience these errors and have the Quadro card listed in these release notes, that driver above driver or newer should be installed by picking the card from the wizard here: https://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us

Step 2:

Following the update or if update does not apply to your card, please do the following:
-- Download nvswitch.exe, right-click and "Run as Administrator".
-- Select icad.exe you are setting profile for, for example C:Program FilesCarlson2021_ICAD10icad.exe
-- Click on the top choice "Recommended"
-- If you have the right card and driver, it will ask whether you want to configure it as provided by Nvidia, click YES
-- If you can not get the right driver, it will ask to try to download it, click NO (since you already checked that driver is not available) and the tool will setup an alternative profile to mitigate the issue
