Title: Carlson BRx5 GPS base / rover | ||

This is in regards to using a Carlson BRx5 base and rover system with SurvCE or SurvPC 4.05 or higher. Click below for the PDF document with screenshots: Carlson BRx5 Quickstart.pdf ***Setup the Rover Receiver: 1) Take out the Radio Antenna package with Freq. Range: 450-470Mhz on the label. Thread one of these antennas onto a BRx5 receiver which we will assign as the Rover 2) Power on just the Rover receiver by holding the power button until the lights show on the front then release it. Leave the other receiver powered off. 3) Run SurvCE/SurvPC 4.05 or higher and go into Equip / GPS Rover 4) Set it to Manufacturer: Carlson and Model: BRx5 5) Tap the Comms tab and set it to Type: Bluetooth and tap the wrenches icon next to BT Type: Windows Mobile 6) Tap Find Device and tap on HGPS S320 to highlight it and tap the Green Check. 7) Tap the Green Check again to use Any Available Port 8) Tap the Bluetooth icon in the top Right to bond to the Rover Bluetooth 9) Tap the Receiver tab and type in 6.5617 feet for the 2 meter fixed height pole and tap next to Vertical 10) Tap the RTK tab and set Device: to Internal nL400 Microhard then tap the wrenches icon to the right 11) Use the default settings of 1 watt and Frequency 465.00 with Radio Mode: PC5 (FEC On) then tap the Green Check 12) Once your back in the RTK tab tap the Green Check again to save your Changes 13) Power off the Rover receiver and set it aside before continuing to the next step ***Setup the Base Receiver: 14) Pick up the second GPS receiver and attach the Radio Bracket to the bottom then connect the Radio Antenna to it so we can use this as the Base receiver. 15) Power on the GPS Base receiver 16) Tap GPS Base and set it for Manufacturer: Carlson and Model: BRx5 17) Tap the Comms tab and set it to Type: Bluetooth and tap the wrenches icon next to BT Type: Windows Mobile 18) Tap Find Device and tap on HGPS S320 to highlight it and tap the Green Check. 19) Tap the Green Check again to use Any Available Port 20) Tap the Bluetooth icon in the top Right to bond to the Rover Bluetooth 21) Tap the Receiver tab and type in your Slant Base antenna height and tap next to Slant 22) Tap the RTK tab and set Device: to Internal nL400 Microhard then tap the wrenches icon to the right 23) Use the default settings of 1 watt and Frequency 465.00 with Radio Mode: PC5 (FEC On) then tap the Green Check 24) Set the Message Type: to RTCM V3.0 25) Tap the Green Check to initialize your Base then tap Read from GPS to take 10 readings 26) Power on your GPS Rover and tap GPS Rover then tap the Green Check to initialize your Rover | ||
