This is in regards to installing SurvCE Version 4.07.3 into a Leica Viva CS10 portrait data collector if you don't have
access to the USB cable for connecting to your computer.
***PLEASE NOTE: You cannot Register SurvCE 4.0 using an older SurvCE 2.0 or 3.0 serial number
All of the newer versions of SurvCE Version 4.0 and higher require a SurvCE 4.0 serial number upgrade and a new
registration using the SurvCE 4.0 registration page at the link below:

Please follow the steps below to install SurvCE using an SD card or USB Thumb Drive:
1) Right-click on the link below click "Save As" or "Save Target As" to save this file as all one piece {1 file} to your
Desktop:
SurvCE_4073_Viva_Portrait.arm.CAB
2) After the download is complete = copy this single file "SurvCE_Viva_Portrait.arm.CAB" from your Computer onto your
compact flash memory card
3) Insert the Compact Flash Memory card into the Viva CS10 in the back under the battery
4) Power on the Viva CS10 and exit out of SurvCE or SmartWorx to get to the Windows CE screen
5) Double-tap My Device/ double-tap StorageCard / double-tap the SurvCE.CAB file we copied in Step #2
6) Tap OK when it prompts you to Re-Install
7) Tap OK in the Upper right when it gives you a choice where to install it {DO NOT Select any folders or change
anything when prompted for a folder = only tap OK}
8) After the Status Bar finishes you should be able to double-tap the SurvCE Icon then tap Continue Last Job and tap
Equip / then tap About SurvCE to see the Version and check to make sure it has been updated properly
