This is in regards to the Carlson Supervisor tablet as it relates to some frequently asked questions

#1) What COM port should I use for RS232/Serial port?

#2) How do I use the Low accuracy Differntial GPS built-in to the Supervisor
  1) On the Supervsior Tap the “Menu” key on the right hand side below the Power button.  Keep tapping the MENU button until you see the wireless options then check the box for "GPS"
  2) Run SurvPC 
  3) Go into Equip / GPS Rover
  4) Set it to “Manufacturer: NMEA”
  5) Tap the Comms tab and set it for Com3 at 38400 baud
  6) Tap the Green Check in the upper right corner then wait about 10mins or so to resolve a position if your standing out in the open with the unit


#3) How do I calibrate the touchscreen
Open eGalaxTouch that can be found on the desktop -> Choose the "Tools" tab -> chose the calibration method you prefer.

#4) How do I configure the F1-F3 buttons?
Press "F1" and you can will see the options available.

#5) My WLAN is not seeing any networks, what can be wrong?
Click on your wireless network icon and choose "Open network and sharing center". On your left side you can find "Change adapter settings" click this. Click and hold the pen on "Wireless Network Connection" and choose properties. 

Click on "configure" and choose the "Advanced" tab. Select the lowest option "Radio On/Off" and in the field "Value" select "Enable". When done tap OK and the Wireless should work as intended.

#6) Since it doesn't have a keyboard, how do I do a Control-Alt-Delete sequence?
Pressing the up and down arrow keys simultaneously will trigger "Control-Alt-Delete".

#7) How do I access the Camera?
The easiest way to reach the camera is through the function keys.

Default settings: A short touch on the F3 key. If the user has reprogrammed the function keys, you can do a short touch on the F1 key to see which keys are assigned to which actions.


***BATTERY CARE***

#8) Is it best to store my unit with the batteries in or out of the device if the units won't be used for a while?
It's best to store batteries separately, charged to 40-50 percent, in a colder environment - 0 C to 10 C.

#9) Should I charge my battery every day, even if it isn't out of power?
Since today's batteries no longer have a "memory effect," harming battery efficiency with daily charging is no longer an issue. You can recharge them as often as you'd like.

#10) Is there any reason to run a battery all the way down before recharging?
No, there's not! For the best performance, avoid completely running down your lithium cell, and charge when you reach 5 percent battery remaining.

#11) How long should I expect a battery to last with standard use? What are the signs that I should get a new battery?
Expected lifetime is approximately 500 charges. Typically, an old battery will drain very quickly from 100 percent to about a half charge
