This is in regards to using SurvCE 2.62 or higher with a Topcon GTS 225 series instrument.

This includes the following models:
GTS 220, GTS 223, GTS 226, and GTS 229

***On the Topcon Instrument***

1)	Turn on the instrument
2)	Level the instrument
3)	On your instrument press Menu button
4)	Press F3, for Memory Manager
5)	Press the F4 key, twice to “page down”
6)	Press F1, for Data Transfer
7)	Press F3, for Comm. Parameters
8)	Press F1, for Protocol. Set it to ONE WAY.  Then, press Enter.
9)	Press F2, for Baud Rate.  Set it to 1200. Then, press Enter.
10)	Press F3, for Char./Parity.  Set it to 7/Even.  Then, press Enter.
11)	Now, go back to the main measurement screen.

***In SurvCE 2.61 or higher***

1.	Tap the Equip tab then tap the "Total Station" button
2.	Set the Manufacturer to "Topcon Direct"
3.	Set the Model to "GPT Series (non-motorized)"
4.	Tap the Comms tab and set your Type of Communication.  The Default settings are sufficient.
5.	Tap the “Instrument” icon, to right of the checkmark, to initialize the instrument.
6.	Tap the Green Check to save your changes and begin your work.
