The TPS100 Series were introduced in 1996/97. These Total Stations were the first series supporting an enhanced set of GSI interfacing commands.

This includes the models below from Leica:

• TC403L, TC600, TC800 (Firmware Version 2.13 and higher)
• TC605, TC605L, TC805, TC805L, TC905, TC905L
• T1610

On the TC805L to access the settings in the instrument:

1. Hold the Menu button for 2 seconds
2. tap "4." for "Rec Data"
3. Set the defaults as shown below:
   • DATout → RS232 {If its on MEM hit Arrow Right ->}
   • Format → 16
   • RS232 → MASK1
   • Baud → 1200
   • Parity → Even
   • Endmrk → CR/LF {if its on CR hit Arrow Right ->}
4. After filling out all the settings hit ENTR to save the changes
5. hit ESC to return to the Measure screen

In SurvCE 2.62 or higher:

1. Go into Equip / Total Station
2. Set the Manufacturer to "Leica TPS Series (Direct)"
3. Set the Model to "TPS 100 Series"
4. Tap the Comms tab and set it up for:
   • Type: Cable
   • Port: Com1
   • Baud: 1200 / Data Bits: 7 / Parity: Even
5. Tap the "Settings" tab and select your FS Target and BS Target prism options
6. Tap the Green Check in the upper right to save your Changes
