This is a delicate process, and should not be taken lightly.
You must to be 100% positive that the data has been copied successfully to your PC from the flashcard, before deleting
anything on the collector. Your data should always be saved in the Data folder found in the System CF drive of your
collector. However, users have mistakenly saved job files elsewhere. Do an extensive exploration of your collector to
ensure that there are no files outside of this folder. If there are files outside of this folder, we recommend COPYING
them into the Data folder.
The last thing that you would want is for you to lose any data.
That being said...
1. Exit the SurvCE program.
2. Double-tap on the My Computer icon found on the Explorer's desktop screen.
3. In My Computer, double-tap on the System CF icon.
4. Inside the System CF folder, tap on the Data folder once in order to highlight it.
5. Click on the Edit drop-down at the top of the window and select COPY. DO NOT SELECT CUT!
6. Tap on the “X” icon on the top right of the window to close it. This should bring you back to the desktop
7. Double-tap on the My Computer icon found on the Explorer's desktop screen.
8. In My Computer, double-tap on the User CF icon. User CF is your compact flashcard.
9. Click on the Edit drop-down at the top of the window and select Paste. This should copy all of the data that you
have stored in the Data folder to your flashcard.
10. Once you have verified that all of your job files have been successfully COPIED onto the User CF card, you can
eject it from the collector, and plug it into your PC/laptop.
11. Use your Windows Explorer to browse the flashcard and COPY the Data folder into an easily accessible/memorable
location on your PC/laptop.
12. Once you have verified that all of your job files have been successfully COPIED from the flashcard to the
PC/laptop, you can go back into the Data folder, found in System CF of the collector, and remove any files you like.
