Topic ID: 585 Link to this page

This is in regards to using SurvCE 2.08 or higher with a Topcon GR-3 GPS that has an "Internal CDMA" modem.

We recommend the following Versions:
  1) SurvCE Version 2.08 or higher
  2)  Topcon GPS firmware 3.3p4
  3)  Modem Firmware Ver 1.6 Rev G   {shown in Modem TPS}
  4)  Serial Interface tab set to 115200 baud {shown in Modem TPS}

The first time you connect we recommend hooking up a cable then:
  a) Power Off the GPS Rover
  b) Power on the GPS Rover
  c) Open SurvCE / Equip / GPS Utils / Factory Reset
  d) Equip / GPS Rover / RTK tab / Internal CDMA = tap "Configure" and fill out the APN info
  e) in the RTK tab tap "Configure" next to NTRIP = fill out your NTRIP IP, Port, User, Pwd
  f) Green Check GPS Rover in the upper right

Config CDMA and Config Ntrip normally take about 2 minutes each along with Green checking GPS Rover taking an additional
2 minutes to go FIXED.

***PLEASE NOTE: Once you have used Config CDMA and Config NTRIP one time its normally NOT NECESSARY to use these
configure buttons again. You can simply exit out to the Main Menu of SurvCE with the File, Equip, Survey tabs then
power off the data collector then power off the GPS Rover.

The next time you want to connect to the GPS Rover with CDMA you can just power on the GPS Rover then power on SurvCE at
the main menu and wait about 2 minutes --- the Internal CDMA will normally automatically reconnect to the network and
you can go to Equip tab / Monitor Skyplot to see it go FIXED. If it does not auto-connect tap Equip / GPS Rover / tap
the Green Check in the upper right.

From our internal Testing we have found these APN settings to work well when you go into Equip / GPS Rover / RTK tab /
Device: Internal CDMA / tap the Configure button

For Sprint/Nextel -or- Verizon please try the settings below:

APN Pin:    0
APN User name: leave this BLANK
APN Password:   leave this BLANK
GPRS Dial:  #777
