USB Port Connection Configuration Steps

  1. Uninstall any WinTab driver on your computer.
  2. Install WinTab driver. It can be loaded from the TabletWorks CD, Takeoff CD, or downloaded from the Web site at www.gococalcomp.com. Follow the onscreen prompts to complete the installation. After the installation, a TabletWorks icon is
    shown on the bottom-right corner of the desktop.
  3. Follow the Roll-Up III User;s guide to install the digitizer: connect the Carlson Puck to the appropriate jack on the digitizer's connector panel.
  4. Connect the USB cable to the USB jack on the Roll-Up III connector panel and connect the other end to anyone of the USB ports on your computer or USB hub. The digitizer should beep, indicating it is powered ON.
  5. Double click the TabletWorks icon, which is on the bottom-right corner of your desktop, to open up the TabletWorks control panel. Click the Refresh List button to active the current Tablet that is connect to the computer. Choose the parameters shown as below.
  6. Go to 16 Btn tab and pick the Mouse Mode as Relative. And then click Apply and OK to exit the TabletWorks Control Panel dialog.
  7. Start up Carlson Takeoff. Under pull-down menu Settings, issue the Preferences command to open the Options dialog. On the upper-left part of the System tab, select the Wintab compatible Digitizer ADI 4.2 as the Current Pointing Device and the Accept input from: Digitizer and mouse (Below as shown). If the default selection for Current Pointing Device is Wintab already and the Accept input from radio buttons are not shown, you have to select Current System Pointing Device as the Current Pointing Device first to active it, and then back to Wintab.
  8. Lastly, under the pull-down menu Digitize, go to the Puck Layout and make sure the Puck Layout is set to 1 if you have a Carlson Puck. If you have a different type of cursor or stylus click on view and select the layout that matches your transducer. You are now ready to begin digitizing. Remember, Calibrate Tablet is always the first step when digitizing.

Serial Port Connection Configuration Steps

  1. Uninstall any WinTab driver on your computer.
  2. Follow the Roll-Up III User's guide to install the digitizer: connect the Carlson Puck to the appropriate jack on the digitizer's connector panel.
  3. Connect the serial cable to the serial jack on the connector panel and connect the connector of the serial cable to serial port on your computer.
  4. Plug in the power supply to an AC outlet and connect the power supply to the appropriate jack on the connector panel. The digitizer should beep four short times.
  5. Install WinTab driver. It can be loaded from the TabletWorks CD or Takeoff CD, or downloaded from the Web site at www.gococalcomp.com. Follow the onscreen prompts to complete the installation. After the installation, a TabletWorks icon is
    shown on the bottom-right corner of the desktop.
  6. Turn off both the computer and tablet.
  7. Turn on the tablet first, and then the computer.
  8. Same as step 5 of USB port connection.
  9. Same as step 6 of USB port connection.
  10. Same as step 7 of USB port connection.
  11. Same as step 8 of USB port connection.
