Title: Interfacing to existing Carlson Software products
Created: 2005-05-11Last modified: 2024-03-04

Carlson Grade can interface with existing Carlson products in several ways.

  • We read the "text" based tin (FLT) files from Carlson's Office/Desktop CAD package (aka SurvCADD).
  • We read the grid (GRD) files from SurvCADD.
  • We read the coordinate (CRD) files from SurvCADD, SurvCE, C&G.
  • We read the localization files (DAT) from Tsunami and SurvCE. NOTE: we do not support GEOIDal elevations.
  • We read the polyline (PLN) files from SurvCADD.
  • We read the centerline (CL) files from SurvCADD, Tsunami, and SurvCE/SurvPC.
  • We read AutoCAD DXF and DWG files for plan view directly.

Carlson Grade supports real-time data transfer via Telescope or Stargazer back to the the office database and the Carlson productivity suite.

  • For PLN, DXF, and DWG files, we can set WARNING areas for no work zones, etc.
  • For GRD and FLT files, we can set WARNING surfaces for no work zones, etc.
  • For GRD files, we can set attributes.

GRD, CRD, and DAT files can be updated from Carlson Grade and brought back into the office.
