The following announcement was just made from Juniper Systems 
regarding the new firmware release for the Allegro CE.

We have released an update to our Allegro CE operating system. 
The upgrade can be implemented by the customer and is available 
on our ftp site for no cost. Step-by step directions are included in 
the update documentation. The link to the update is 
ftp.junipersys.com/Pub/Allegro_CE/.  If a CD is desired, the cost is 
$25.00 for shipping and handling.  Please note that this update 
applies only to the Allegro CE Field PC. It does not apply to
the Allegro CE/DOS Field PC.

The software update implements the following features:

Operating System Enhancements:   
*  Overall performance improvement
*  Incorporated Expansion Port API fixes
*  MultiSync bug fixes and enhancements
*  Updated AppInstaller
*  Missing XML file now included
*  Fixed Auto suspend while on external power function 
*  Fixed Three hour "auto disconnect" wihile connected to 
ActiveSync
*  Incorporated latest Microsoft bug fixes 
*  Registered ATL component
*  Added pvbform2.dll to avoid VB uninstall issues
*  New warning messages for "Reset System" and "Restore 
System"
*  Battery window no longer pops up over touchscreen calibration
*  Adjusted sizing of some windows that did not fit screen
*  Out of memory handler now adds more memory for each request
*  Remnet can be used to create desktop shortcut and other 
features
*  COM2 and USB now available in Terminal program
*  New On/Off key behavior
*  Darker System Tray Icons
*  Registered ".bat" file type so batch files can be executed 
   via double-click or Start - Run - bat file name

SDKs Improvements:
*  ADO headers added to SDKs (formerly a separate download)
*  Added header file from Platform SDK needed for ADO with ATL.
*  Fixed unknwn.h for ADO with ATL
*  New APIs - contrast, backlight, touchscreen
