This is in regards to programming an external Satel 35watt base radio to work with a BRx6 base and rover.

!!!Please Note: to use the Carlson BRx6 receiver requires SurvCE 5.08 or higher

Step #1) Power on your BRx6 base receiver.

1a. Run SurvCE 5.08 or higher and tap Equip / GPS Base and set it for Manufacturer: Carlson and Model: BRx6

1b. Tap the "Comms" tab and set it to "Type: Bluetooth" then tap the "wrenches" and tap "Find Device" and follow the
prompts to search for your BRx6 base receiver and select it then tap the bluetooth Plug icon in the top middle to
connect to it

1c. Tap the Receiver tab.  Measure to where the blue top cap meets the lower grey housing as shown in the link below and
type this value in the Antenna height box.  Make sure to tap next to "Slant":

1d. After filling out your antenna height and setting it to "Slant" = tap the RTK tab set it to:
  Device: Cable or Generic
  Baud: 19200
  Message Type: RTCM V3.2

1e. Tap the Green Check and use one of the options in the "From New Position" or the "From Known position" to start the
GPS base


Step #2) On the Satel 35watt keypad of the radio itself you can go use these keystrokes for checking the baud rate on
Port 1:

2a. Setup / Port 1 / On / 19200

If it is set to a different baud = change it to 19200

2b. Setup / down arrow / Radio settings to set it for Compatibility = Satel 3AS

2c. Setup / Radio Frequency / TX freq / Set to set the TX transmit frequency to your FCC licensed frequency (if you are
unsure of what frequency to use you can type in 461.0000)


Step #3) Move your BRx6 Rover at a distance of 20 feet or more from the Satel 35watt base radio then power on your BRx6
rover.  Also - make sure the UHF antenna is screwed in to the left side (the port labeled UHF)

3a. Tap Equip / GPS Rover and set it to Manufacturer: Carlson and Model: BRx6

3b. Tap the "Comms" tab and set it to "Type: Bluetooth" then tap the "wrenches" and tap "Find Device" and follow the
prompts to search for your BRx6 rover receiver and select it then tap the bluetooth Plug icon in the top middle to
connect to it

3c. Then tap the Receiver tab and type in an antenna height of 6.562 feet (if you are using a standard 2meter pole) and
tap next to "Vert" in the upper right

3d. Tap the RTK tab and set it to "Device: Internal UHF" and make sure to check the box for "Use any Base ID"
  
3e. Tap the "wrenches" icon next to "Device: Internal UHF" and set it for:
    Protocol: Satel
    Power: 1 Watt
    Channel: 1: 461 Mhz
    New Channel Frequency: (Leave this set to 0.0000)
    Channel Spacing: 12.5 kHz
    Forward Error Correction: Off

***To set a custom frequency change it to "Channel: 9: 0 Mhz" then in the "New Channel Frequency" box type in the
frequency you entered into your Satel 35watt base radio to program Channel 9 to your custom frequency

3f. Tap the Green Check to save your Radio settings then tap the Green Check to save your settings and initialize the
rover.

If you are outdoors with a clear view of the sky you can tap Equip / Monitor Skyplot and it should show a Status of
"Fixed" with a Latency between 0 and 3 or 4 seconds
