“We are presenting the significant new workflow option of Carlson SurvPC** data collection with Esri OEM engine by the Norway Land Consolidation Court,” says Carlson. “The NLCC had their field crews take all or portions of the actual Esri maps to the field and they used SurvPC to display the Esri map itself and access the database for all entities.  Symbols, lines and polygons could be picked and re-measured or new features added, with full attribute prompting direct from the database and no file conversion.”

In a recent “Success Stories” post on the Esri website — — they write: “The NLCC staff have found that SurvPC Esri OEM easily allows feature and map entity creation or revision within the Esri environment. The Esri map appears in the field exactly as it was when last saved in the office. Features with editing permissions can be revised or resurveyed based on field conditions, with updating of attributes. Others without editing permission can be blocked. “

They also quote Morten Strand, NLCC senior adviser, geographic information technology, as saying, “Carlson SurvPC provides our surveyors with a seamless GIS work environment with no translation issues between field data collector and ArcGIS office solutions. The software is very user-friendly and offers sophisticated functionality for data collection and field editing.”

”With SurvPC, you see the sharp Esri graphics in the field—making for a high-quality field measurement experience, leading to precision GIS,” adds Carlson.
