In normal operation you can simply tap Twice on the "SHIFT" key on the keyboard to turn on the CAPS lock. To turn it
off you can simply tap the SHIFT key again to turn off the CAPS lock and turn off the Shift light on the keyboard.
If you are using a Carlson Surveyor+ and you would like to leave the CAPS Lock on all the time but still use the Blue
2nd key shortcuts for symbols you can follow the steps below:
1) Tap file then tap Exit to exit out of SurvCE
2) Tap the “Calendar” button in the bottom left to open the calendar
3) Tap the “Keyboard” icon in the bottom middle of the screen to open the On-Screen Keyboard
4) Tap the “CAP” button on the on-screen keyboard on the left hand side
5) Tap X in the upper right to close the calendar then re-open SurvCE
6) Now you can tap the “SHIFT” key on the physical keyboard to turn off the Shift light
7) This allows you to use the blue 2nd function key functions with the Keyboard Shift light off but it still uses the
CAPS Lock from the windows keyboard so with the Keyboard Shift light off you can still type any letters and get UPPER
CASE values
8) If you need lower case letters you can tap the Shift key then tap a letter and it will act the opposite so when its
lit up it will give Lower Case and when its unlit it gives Upper Case
***PLEASE NOTE: you would need to repeat steps 1 through 5 one time after you reboot the data collector to turn on the
On-Screen keyboard CAPS lock back on
