Husky

1) How do I re-boot and by-pass the autoexec.bat file:

	a) FS2/GS - Hold the left shift key and the PAGE-UP and PAGE-DOWN keys down. It will re-name the autoexec.bat and
config.sys to zutoexec.bat and zonfig.sys.

	b) MP2500 / FS3 - Hold the left shift key down while re-booting.

2) FS2 / GS – Bad sector error when booting the Husky. Code for bad boot disk - type 56580. It will re-configure the RAM
and wipe out all programs and data. You will then have to re-format the husky and re-load the software.

3) Cap-lock (PAW-C)

4) Sound ON/OFF (PAW-S)

5) Cursor ON/OFF (Paw-Z)

6) Contrast (Paw-E, Paw-X)

7) To re-format ram run the UTIL program (FS2 / GS only). Format Fixed Disk. Format to 640K for program area. Leave the
other settings alone.

8) PAW-H to get to Power Management. SPM (standard power management) only warns you when batteries are low. APM
(Advanced Power Management) allows you to set the % charged and warning level.

9) Charging Levels:
	1 - no charging
	2 - ?
3 - charge when Husky is OFF
4 - charge when Husky is ON or OFF

10) MP2500 - Sometimes will not turn on. Make sure the Husky has good batteries and then re-boot the Husky (hold the two
keys left and right of the key down (usually it is two shift keys) with the thumbs and hold the ON/OFF key
down). Hold all three keys down. It sometime takes 30 seconds before the Husky will turn on. If it does not turn on,
hook it up to the charger and try again.

11) How to get to function keys above F4. Hold the PAW key down and press the number of the function key. PAW-6 is F6,
PAW-0 is F10.

12) FS3 & MP2500 - PAW-Z turns cursor ON/OFF.

13) Error opening .TMP files when reducing raw data. The Config.sys file either does not exist, or it is not in effect.
This sets FILES and BUFFERS:

	SET FILES=20
	SET BUFFERS=24

If the Config.sys file does not exist, HCOM it down from the Install Disk.

Re-Boot the Husky so the Config.sys takes affect.

14) Err: ST.OPT - Either they deleted the ST.OPT file in the C:\> (root) directory, or they ran CG.EXE from a
subdirectory. If they use HCOM to transfer data files, when they exit HCOM on the Husky, they are in the C:\DATA\>
directory. They need to do a "CD.." to back up to the root directory before running CG.EXE. If they deleted the ST.OPT,
have them use HCOM to download it to the Husky.

15) Communications seem to be a little flaky or do not work. Sometimes it will trigger the instrument, but no data is
received.

	a) First time user: Make sure the total station is set to the correct COM parameters (see manual).
	b) Do a warm boot and try again (Shift-Shift-ON/OFF for 3 seconds). This will reset the COMM PORTS.
	c) Check the settings to see if the correct port is selected (on FS2 and FS3 only)
	d) Try swapping cables (especially if it was working and just stopped).
