National Data:

USGS Data

USGS Digital-Ortho Quarter-Quads - USGS DOQQ are 1-meter resolution ortho photography in true color, false color infra-red and Black and White. The images are in GeoTiff format and NAD83 UTM Meters. The images are available from the USGS and many state, local and commerical sources.

USGS Digital Raster Graphics - USGS DRGs are scanned images of the USGS series topographic maps. DRGs are 16 color images in GeoTiff format at 250 DPI UTM Meters. Available from the USGS, many state and local agenicies and commerical sources.

USGS Urban Area - Available for 133 of the most populated areas in the United States. These images are 24-bit true color at 1-foot resolution. The images are in GeoTiff Format and State Plane projection. Available from the USGS, TerraServer, state and local agencies. These are the high quality images seen in Google Earth and NASA World Wind.

USDA Data

USDA National Agriculture Imagery Program (NAIP) - USDA NAIP imagery is 24-bit true color imagery with one meter resolution. Available in either by county as MrSid format or DOQQ as GeoTiff, the projection is NAD83 UTM meters. Imagery is available from the USDA, state or commerical sources.

Other Data

Google Earth - Google earth provides seamless map, aerial photography and satellite imagary for the earth. Images are in geographic coordinates WGS84.

NASA World Wind - Similar to Google Earth and features NASA and USGS imagery. Imagery is in geographic coordinates WGS84.

TerraServer Download Site - MicroSoft hosted site for the browsing and downloading of USGS image data. Imagery is in UTM NAD83 meters.
