When a serial number is upgraded, it is linked to a new upgrade serial number. For example, every upgraded  Carlson 2012 serial number has a corresponding new 2013 serial number. If a machine running 2012 is upgraded to 2013 using the "correct" serial number the two software products will continue to run indefinitely.

Registration Error 415 can occur when the 2013 serial number for the error reporting 2012 software has been installed and registered on a different machine. To avoid registration error 415, make sure you install the upgrade software using the new serial number directly upgraded from the current serial number. You can get the serial number from the software by going to 'Help' - 'About Carlson' - 'Change Registration' - this will list your current software serial number.
