Title: Exporting surfaces to LandXML modifies the surface
Created: 2007-10-31Last modified: 2007-10-31
SYMPTOM:

The surface gets distorted when performing export via LandXML and importing it into Civil3D or LDT.
This includes exclusions being triangulated and breaklines modified.

CAUSE:

There is a setting in Civil3D or LDT called "quick import". This mean that it imports only points and triangulates the surface again. This will get rid of the holes and modify breaklines.

RESOLUTION:

In LDT : while importing, check setting under Options->Data in LandXML import dialog. Make sure that "Maintain Triangulation" is selected under Surfaces.

In Civil3D 2007: while importing, click on Edit LandXML Settings in LankXML import dialog. Check that under 'Surface Import Settings', Surface Data is set to 'full import'.
