Harry O. Ward, PE, Named VP of Carlson Software

Ward to direct Carlson College and Carlson's Civil Engineering Division

MAYSVILLE, Ky., U.S.A. --   In recognition of the growth that Carlson Software has been experiencing in civil engineering sales and its training division, Harry O. Ward, PE, has been named a vice president by the land development software company. As such, he will be directing the operations of Carlson College and the Civil Engineering Division.

“As we expand our company’s goals and initiatives, having Harry leading two of our important divisions will help to provide more focused direction to both the training and sales staff, while also helping Carlson better serve the land development industry,” says Bruce Carlson, founder and president of Carlson Software.

Carlson, an independent company founded in 1983, has been providing comprehensive civil engineering solutions for more than two decades and, while renowned for its free technical support, has offered comprehensive training through Carlson College since 2006. Carlson civil software solutions include Carlson Civil, Carlson Survey, Carlson Hydrology, and the Carlson Civil Suite, which is made up of the modules, Civil, Survey, Hydrology and GIS.  The company is also well known for its surveying, mining, construction and machine control software.

Harry O. Ward, PE, of Front Royal, Va., brings more than 20 years of experience in applying CADD within the civil engineering and surveying industries, plus, he was the founder and director of Outsource Inc., which became Carlson College. He is a licensed Professional Engineer, a licensed contractor, a member of the Engineering Faculty at George Mason University, is on the P.O.B. Editorial Advisory Board and is a columnist for P.O.B. and Site Prep magazines.

“Carlson Software is achieving extraordinary success in the civil industry and we find ourselves in a unique market position: our software is complete, stable, highly intuitive in its use, has a low cost of ownership and leads the entire industry with its superior features,” notes Ward. “Equally important, though, our customers often tell us that we are an easy company to do business with. Add in our free tech support and world class training and Carlson becomes the clear choice for design and survey software solutions.”
