MAYSVILLE, Kentucky, U.S.A. (February 2020) — Seafloor Systems is showcasing the Carlson Merlin and soon-to-be-released Merlin LT at the Ocean Sciences Show being held in San Diego, California, from February 16-21, 2020. Seafloor Systems is exhibiting at the show in booth 424.

The Carlson Merlin is a time-tagged laser scanner that can be used for coastal, offshore, and inland waterway surveying. The system features a 250-meter range laser scanner and a GPS receiver, which provides accurate time-tagged survey data. It can be integrated with other hydrographic equipment to then enable both surface and subaquatic data collection.

The all-new Merlin LT is designed without a GPS receiver making it a lighter and more compact for use on smaller, unmanned vessels.

“It’s great to have both the Merlin and the Merlin LT at Ocean Sciences this year,” says Gavin Franklyne, Director of LMD Americas. “The standard Merlin has been widely used across the globe in advanced applications while Seafloor’s expertise and advanced product portfolio of unmanned marine vehicles will be a perfect pairing with the Merlin LT.”

The Merlin LT is expected to be officially released in mid-March with orders being placed now.

Seafloor Systems was founded in 1999 and is known within the industry for its innovative application of hydro acoustic sonar and unmanned marine surface vehicle technology used primarily in the surveying. The company is based in Shingle Springs, California.
