Carlson Machine Control’s new RA45™ Rugged GNSS MC Antenna delivers multi-constellation support in a low profile, rugged form for mining, blast drilling, dredging, solid waste landfills, and pile driving.

MAYSVILLE, Ky., U.S.A. (February 10, 2015) – Carlson Machine Control is now offering the RA45 Rugged GNSS MC Antenna, a low profile, multipurpose antenna designed to provide millimeter- accuracy in rugged environments such as mining, blast drilling, dredging, solid waste landfills, and pile driving.

The RA45 is Compact and weighs just 1.1 pounds (0.50 Kg)

The unit is made to be utilized on a dozer, compactor, excavator, drill, scraper shovel and more. The RA45’s ruggedized housing is made of an aluminum base that can pass the two-meter pole drop test as well as withstand environmental conditions such as salt, fog, and spray.

Compact and weighing just 1.1 pounds (0.50 Kg), the RA45 has an IP69 rating and will operate in temperatures from -40° C (-40° F) to +85° C (+185° F).

With its unique filtering patterns and precise attention to mitigation of multipath and interference, the RA45 antenna supports present and future GNSS signals, including GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, QZSS, and Galileo, all at a multi-frequency level.

The RA45 is optimized to work with the Carlson CBx6 control

“The RA45 is optimized to work with Carlson’s CBx6 control box console’s internal GNSS for single positioning,” says Randy Noland, V.P. of Business Development for Carlson Machine Control. “Or, two of the RA45s can be used with Carlson’s MCPro VSx6 dual receiver for defining longer heading baselines that are required for larger machines such as shovels, excavators, and platform drills.”

The Carlson RA45 is designed to excel in challenging environments such as near buildings, under foliage, or in bad weather. It offers superior multi-path mitigation, stable phase centers, and strong SNRs, even at low elevations.
