MAYSVILLE, Kentucky, U.S.A. (July 31, 2015)— Support for AutoCAD® 2016 and the all-new IntelliCAD®8.1 join enhanced collaboration options as highlights of the Carlson Civil and Carlson Hydrology 2016 releases.

“The new Settings Server enables CAD managers to easily distribute uniform command settings and files to Carlson users throughout their company,” notes Dave Carlson, Carlson Software V.P. of Development. “And, we’ve added support for the Subversion (SVN) server and the Bentley ProjectWise for additional ‘cloud’ coordination for project data with Carlson Data Depot.”

CAD Managers

New function allows CAD managers to automate company-wide standards.

For Carlson Hydrology, in addition to the new ribbon toolbars for hydrology commands , new commands allow dynamic edits of the sewer network model in both the plan and profile views with just a screen pick.

Both Carlson Civil and Hydrology are comprehensive, yet easy-to-master civil engineering software solutions. In addition to support for AutoCAD 2016, they also work on AutoCAD versions 2010 and up. All Carlson 2016 office software comes with the improved IntelliCAD 8.1 built-in, which offers a CAD platform for no extra expense.

Recently released, IntelliCAD 8.1 represents major improvements in its CAD engine technology, now including support for Microsoft Windows 10 along with multi-core processing when opening and regenerating files, which provides a 1.5 to 3 times performance improvement on multi-core computers.

Many user interface enhancements are also included: new ribbon user interface that can be used with or without menus, support for customizable workspaces, and ability to quickly switch color schemes. In addition is support for opening and saving .dwg files version 2015, developing end-user applications with a new Microsoft .NET API, opening and exporting .dgn files, annotation scaling, publishing drawings, printing to .dwf (or .dwfx), .png, and .jpg files; drawing helices and revision clouds, lofting and sweeping entities, creating polysolids, and various other new commands such as SETBYLAYER, XPLODE, TXT2NTXT5, and AUTOCOMPLETE.

“Since our 2009 release,” says Bruce Carlson, president and founder of Carlson Software, “when anyone buys or upgrades to Carlson Software, they are then able to work on either AutoCAD or IntelliCAD. We feel it’s important to give our users the choice.”

Carlson Civil provides the most robust automation and ease-of-use of any civil design solution available today, and it does dynamic updating without a single custom object. In addition, Carlson Software has been providing free technical support since its founding in 1983.

Along with Carlson Civil and Hydrology for 2016, Carlson Software is also releasing the 2016 versions of Carlson Survey and Carlson GIS, which together with Civil and Hydrology make up the Carlson Civil Suite. Carlson Point Cloud, Carlson Mining, Carlson Natural Regrade, plus Carlson GeoTech, Carlson CADnet, Carlson Trench, and Carlson Construction (these latter four make up the Takeoff Suite), all featuring their own industry-specific improvements, have also been released.

Carlson 2016 is available now for upgrade or new purchase. For more information about other enhancements in this new release, visit the Carlson 2016 page on its website, www.carlsonsw.com/carlson2016. Carlson has been meeting land design professionals’ software needs since 1983.
