MAYSVILLE, Kentucky, U.S.A. (October 2018) – Be prepared to learn how Carlson Software’s many innovative products for geodesy, geoinformation, and land management will work for you when visiting Carlson stand #12.1C.058 (Hall 12) at Intergeo in Frankfurt, Germany, October 16-18.

Find Carlson Software at Intergeo in Hall: 12.1 Booth: 12.1C.058 and Hall: FG Booth: FG.001

“Technology moves rapidly,” says Bruce Carlson, founder and president of Carlson Software, “and here at Carlson we pride ourselves on listening to our customers and providing solutions that best meet their many needs.”

The following are among the many new and improved products at Carlson that will be highlighted during Intergeo 2018:

Carlson PhotoCapture, a cloud-based, standalone photogrammetry solution, that gives users the ability to generate interactive 3D maps of sites using aerial, oblique, or terrestrial images. Once the images are uploaded, Carlson PhotoCapture creates an orthomosaic photo to piece the site together. Pixels are then turned into accurate 3D models, which allow users to set control points to fine-tune the survey data. Viewing, editing, and sharing the 3D map is then extremely fast from anywhere with an internet connection.

SurvCE 6 and SurvPC 6, data collection software with both featuring the innovative, problem-solving Hybrid+, a paid addition which allows users to survey with both GPS and total station at the same time, providing the ability to collect accurate data as quickly as possible. Focusing on efficiency, the new 6.0 improvements include:

• GIS Inspector – Allows easy viewing of GIS attributes when selecting points in the map, and prompts for attributes when storing points from the map view.
• Surface Inspector – Allows easy comparison of plan versus as-built in elevation difference, making it simpler to store and stake any point in elevation difference.
• Obstructed Point Stakeout – An enhanced stakeout method to stake a point that is obstructed by marking azimuth and distance on two points.
• Automatic Backsite Check – A button to turn to the backsite, measure the position, and report the error at any time.

Newly released Carlson 2019 office design software, which includes Carlson Survey, Carlson Civil, Carlson Hydrology, Carlson GIS, Carlson Point Cloud, Carlson CADnet, Carlson Takeoff, and more, all of which are now both .dwg and .dgn compatible if working in the provided IntelliCAD platform. This means that Carlson 2019 finally bridges the two worlds of Autodesk and Microstation in one package. Carlson 2019 features more than 200 improvements including enhancements to the 3D Viewer routine, triangulation file utilities, and parking lot design abilities in Carlson Civil 2019; new routines to import or export sewer models to Esri® and a new Pressure Pipe Network in Carlson Hydrology 2019; support for .ECW files and embedded world file data, the option to scale aerial images, and the ability to assign CAD properties to GIS attributes by layer, length, area, and elevation in Carlson GIS 2019; and the new drag-and-drop CUI interface, tool palettes that can be easily customized, button icons support of .dll, bmp, and png formats, and compatible macro syntax in Carlson Survey 2019.

The innovative Precision 3D Topo for powerful point cloud editing. P3D Topo allows users to bridge the gap between drones (UAVs) and CAD and to import survey data, points, polylines, surfaces, point clouds, both traditional LiDAR and aerial drone survey data, and more from a wide variety of programs and entities to create usable 3D surfaces. Its powerful surface editing tools allow users to perfect surface models and to import/export all data as LandXML, DXF, and surface models as TIN, TN3, and TTM.

In addition, visitors to the Carlson booth will be able to see demonstrations of products from the Laser Measurement Devices (LMD) division, just acquired last year, which provides systems and sensors for high-performance mapping, surveying, positioning and measuring, even in extreme environments.

In addition to its inside booth 12.1C.058, Carlson Software will be presiding at an outdoor booth FG.001 at Messe Frankfurt. This booth will be the site of a series of free workshops. They are the following:

  • Tuesday, Oct. 16—10.00 and 16.00 SurvCE Version 6 with Hybrid+, 14.00 Carlson PhotoCapture & Precision 3D;
  • Wednesday, Oct. 17—10.00 and 16.00 SurvCE Version 6 with Hybrid+, 14.00 SurvCE & Esri;
  • Thursday, Oct. 18—10.00 and 16.00 SurvCE Version 6 with Hybrid+, 14.00 Carlson Takeoff.
