Newly Released Takeoff R9 Optimizes Estimating and Modeling Features
MAYSVILLE, Ky., U.S.A. (August 9, 2016)— Newly released, Carlson Takeoff R9, is a project-estimating and modeling software for site and heavy highway contractors which comes with the AutoCAD® 2013 OEM engine built in.
First introduced in 2004 to take the drudgery out of estimating, Carlson Takeoff R9 is the most advanced version yet. Besides handily importing CAD, PDF or paper plans, there are new raster to vector commands to make image input a snap. For output, the reporting now offers customized graphical reports and creating multi-page PDF reports from the layout tabs. A new Cost Summary Report and Linework Length Report are available and the Material Report has improved format options.
Additional updates to Takeoff R9 include:
- Cut/Fill Movement command to optimize earth movement;
- Upgraded PDF import engine;
- 3D PDF output directly from 3D viewers and with option for template PDF;
- Rubber sheet aerial images;
- Method for trench by fixed depth from surface;
- Option to output TIN surface for trenching;
- LandXML 2.0 support with import for plan view features and output of TIN surfaces with colors and materials.
Carlson Takeoff R9 also provides data prep capabilities for layout and the ability to create 3D models for machine control in the native Topcon®, Trimble®, Leica® or Carlson format.
Carlson Takeoff R9 is the embedded AutoCAD version and includes all of the same ingredients of the new Carlson Takeoff Suite, which works on AutoCAD, versions 2010 to 2017, and comes with IntelliCAD® 8.2 built in. The Carlson Takeoff Suite is comprised of the four individually available modules: Carlson CADnet, Carlson Trench, Carlson GeoTech, and Carlson Construction.
