Carlson 2008 for AutoCAD is now available. Customers on the maintenance program will receive the installation CD over the next several weeks. The new release is also posted under the Downloads section of our webpage and maintenance customers can download it now and get their new 2008 serial number from a link on our webpage. The manual has been updated in electronic formats of pdf and chm and these files are posted under the Manuals section of our webpage. For this release, we are printing a hardcopy addendum manual that contains only the new commands for this release.
The Carlson 2008 release runs on any AutoCAD from version 2008 through 2000. Microsoft Vista is supported when running Carlson 2008 with AutoCAD 2008. The new release contains updates for all the modules:
Survey, Civil, Hydrology, GIS, Natural Regrade, Field, Takeoff, PointClouds, Geology, Surface Mining and Underground Mining.
Highlights of the new features include:
- New dynamic Lot Network model for subdivision design
- New drawing setup options for coordinate system for geodetic reports and distance scale factor grid/ground reports
- Site Network to organize surfaces by layers, apply topsoil and subgrade adjustments and calc volumes and materials
- New Grading rules for elevating pads and lots with ability to balance site by rules
- New hydrograph routing routines for watersheds, reservoirs, channels and pipes
- New On-screen Centerline editor with custom object snap grips
- Dynamic Station Polyline/Centerline labels
- More Draw Profile controls and new adjust plan-profile sheet
- StrataCalc modeling improvements for conformance
- New Pit Scheduler to assign equipment to timing blocks in cross-section graphic view with data spreadsheet
In all, there are more than 300 new features in this release. A full list is posted on our webpage.
Now that Carlson 2008 for AutoCAD is released, we will work next on releasing new versions of our Carlson Standalone products: Carlson Survey, Carlson Roads and Carlson Field.
