Carlson
Software announces the
winner of the 6th Annual
Mine Design Competition.
Bart Chevreaux
(University of Nevada -
Reno student) takes 1st
Place.
Congratulations to all of the schools that participated in the 2003 Carlson Software
National Senior Mine Design Competition. Bart Chevreaux of the University of
Nevada – Reno took 1st Place, Jennifer Brown, Miles Stephens, and Cody
Whipperman, of the University of Utah took 2nd Place, and Jon Griffith and Wesley
Johnson of Virginia Tech took 3rd Place. The winning project receives $2,000,
2nd Place project receives $1,000 and the 3rd Place project receives $500. Each
student receives a certificate documenting the achievement. Each school has a
running plaque that is updated by Carlson Software.
Carlson Software would like to thank three of the top mining consulting firms
in the nation for reviewing the projects this year including John T. Boyd Company,
Marshall Miller and Associates, and Norwest Corporation.
Carlson Software sponsors the annual competition open to the ABET accredited
mining engineering schools. Each school is invited to participate regardless
of SurvCADD use. Carlson Software supports the mining engineering academic community
by sponsoring the senior design competition and providing deep educational discounts
on SurvCADD. |
